Istanbul,
23 May 2005 – Banksoft, a leading provider of card-based payment solutions,
announced today that one of its customers, HSBC, completed successfully all
three certifications from MasterCard, Visa and BKM (Turkish National Switch)
for EMV acquiring at ATMs. HSBC is the first bank in Turkey to start offering
this service.
The
service fully utilizes the capabilities of EMV-based credit/debit cards in
aspects of security, by enabling both issuer and card authentication. Issuers
will also be able to send scripts to EMV cards through ATMs.
The
EMV acquiring capability was achieved within three months and passed the three
institutions’ certification tests. “Our customers need new functionality to
meet market needs and create new revenue streams. As we were the first in
Europe to certify EMV issuing by both MasterCard and Visa, we built on our
expertise in chip cards to lead on the EMV ATM acquiring as well” said Beyhan
Biçken, vice president at Banksoft.
