Banksoft and SAGEM Monétel are
delighted to announce the installation of more than 100 000 terminals during
the year 2006 in Turkey. Over 200 000 SAGEM Monétel POS terminals are now
deployed and in production. These figures demonstrate the leading position
achieved by Banksoft in its domestic market with the SAGEM Monétel EFT
terminals.
Today, Banksoft has
reached a strong position in the Turkish market by providing the banks complete
solutions from issuing payment cards to acquiring and processing transactions.
It has developed powerful solutions, which have been adopted by many banks such
as Anadolubank, Denizbank, Finansbank, Halkbank, HSBC Bank, TEB, Tekstilbank,
and Ziraatbank. Akbank, one of the largest POS acquiring banks, with more than
200.000 POS terminals, has recently started to use SAGEM Monétel /Banksoft POS
terminals.
This
significant success is mainly based on the EFT 930 terminal series products
launched one year ago in Turkey. This product range is composed of desktop and
portable terminals using GPRS, PSTN, and ethernet communications. These
terminals, the smallest in the market today, provide a very high level of
services by combining the famous reliability of the SAGEM Monétel products with
the excellence of the software and the services developed by Banksoft.
In
1995, SAGEM Monétel and Banksoft started supplying the first 32 bit terminals
to the Turkish market. Since then, all the SAGEM Monétel terminals installed in
Turkey have a 32-bit microprocessor; full EMV support, Chip&PIN, remote
program download and multi-application. Supporting evidence of quality
commitment of Banksoft and SAGEM Monétel to the Turkish banks, most of these
terminals are still in use in the retail sector.
Banksoft
and SAGEM Monétel have shipped over 200,000 terminals, and have by this way a
very important market share in the extremely dynamic Turkish market. For 2007,
Banksoft and SAGEM Monétel are planning an even more successful year with
continued growth and an expanded installed base of EFT POS terminals.
